Downtime @ Dark

When the water colour below the surface is brighter than the sky above and your in the UK paddling you should really / probably get off!!!

Downtime Dave and I took a flying visit to wish you were here in the Lakes on Tuesday and had a fantastic paddle on one of the best spots in the North.

Setting of only 3hrs later than planned we arrived at the river at 3.30pm in the pooring rain to find not one but three seams working.

Excited and wrapped up warm we set to the river for a fantastic downtime session.

Within half and hour the light had gone but this didn't stop us enjoying ourselves as we continued on well into the night.

For all you budding squirt boaters out there is spot is definatly worth the visit.

Snow at the Swale

The Swale is one of the classic runs in North Yorkshire. The Upper section of the river contains a series of fantastic waterfalls set in a beautiful valley.

A week earlier the plans to run the river had to been posponed due it being frozen solid but this week the snow had begun to melt and the run was on.

Ade P, Darren, Molly & Simon joined me on the water and we had a fantastic day on the falls.

New River Running Kayak Dagger Mamba 8.0.

Freezing temperatures, low water levels and a new boat to play with…

This weekend I took my new boat a Dagger Mamba 8.0 over to Wales to test it out.

Despite the lack of rain and with snow and ice everywhere, we had a fantastic day on the River Llugwy at Pont Cyfng falls on the Saturday and joined up with most of the paddlers in North Wales for a leisurely paddle on the River Dee on Sunday.

I found my new boat great as it handled really well, it was very responsive and carried its speed well. I can’t wait to test it out more when the rain comes.

Stu Parry and Ross Montandon we're with me on Pont Cyfng Falls heres some photos of the boys in action
